Love my Silhouette
I recently bought a Silhouette Cameo and love it. I learn something different to do with it all the time. This is latest and I think it turned out so cute. I took a plain canvas and painted it added the initial and the flowers. The initial I cut out of scrapbook paper with my Silhouette. This is great for little girls or little boys. I am thinking about doing one for our house next...of course with more neutral colors! I will post how that one turns out too.

New Outfit
I was in Hobby Lobby the other day and fell in love with the zebra fabric. When someone asked me to make her daughter a Valentine's Outfit-I thought this would be cute! I am pleased at how they came out. They look great with the Valentine's shirt and I am thinking for St. Paddy's Day a lime green shirt with a zebra four leaf clover! You can always find something to go with Zebra! I added the black ruffle at the last minute and I think it really added to the pants.

Baby Rattle Wreath
Everybody loves Pinterest and the things that you can find. Well, one day while searching around I found a picture of a baby rattle wreath to use for a baby shower. I thought it was the cutest idea for the front door. I was helping host a Sip and See and thought it would be a nice touch to the front door. I decided to give it a try.
I started out by trying to find the perfect flowers for the project. I found some at Michaels and decided to go with pink and green. I got 2 styrofoam balls 5" for the top and a 2" for the bottom, a wooden dowel that I painted white made up the stick to hold the 2 balls together. I have to say that the styrofoam balls from Dollar Tree worked better than the one from Hobby Lobby. I cut the flowers off the bunch and just stuck them in the styrofoam. I ended up having to go back and hot glue them on so they would stay. I think it turned out precious! I used a clear suction hook and ribbon to hang it on the front door. It was a hit! I forgot to get a picture of it hanging, but here is a picture of the final project!

Name Shirt-First 2 Attempts
So I decided to get brave yesterday and try out letters on a shirt. I have a small monogram machine that doesn't monogram bigger than a 4 x4 so big applique letters are out of the question. I thought that with the new Silhouette Cameo machine, I should be able to cut out the letters and sew them on. Well I know now why people charge so much for hand appliqued shirts! It's hard and slow process (or at least for this newbie). I think they came out okay. I am having trouble with the edges of the fabric fraying a bit. I am not sure how much it will fray once it's washed, but to me that might give it a cute look.
I am just so picky and don't want to give anyone something that isn't perfect. I know that the flaws that I see other people don't see, but still. I ended up messing up 2 onesies yesterday and it makes me sick, but I know that I am still learning and that mess ups are bound to happen. I guess I will just keep practicing. It makes me sick when I have to throw away a good shirt/onesie because of a small hole. I try to think of people that I could give it to that it won't matter. I guess that is terrible, but it's better than going in the trash!! So here are the final first attempt at Appliqued Name Shirts.
